
Dr. Chris Cancialosi is a recognized expert in the field of organizational culture and leader development. Chris’ work with senior leaders across industries and sectors centers on large-scale organizational transformation initiatives aimed at creating and sustaining effective change. An experienced advisor with a reputation for providing critical insights and engaging, customized solutions, Chris effectively combines his operational field experience with his knowledge of organizational psychology to provide unique and practical solutions to today’s ever changing business landscape. Working with clients such as Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Google, JetBlue Airways, Defense Logistics Agency, Marriott International, Nando’s South Africa, Virgin, and New York City’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Chris finds distinct ways to engage groups in ways that yield bottom-line results.
Prior to founding gothamCulture, Chris held leadership positions in both internal and external consulting roles at JetBlue Airways and Human Performance Systems, where his work focused on leader development, organizational culture, and performance improvement. Chris also served as a commissioned officer in the US Army spending two years leading troops in combat operations in Iraq. Performing in leadership roles as a battalion operations officer and as a Blackhawk helicopter pilot, Chris has a unique perspective about operations and people that he brings to his current client work and research.
Chris served, for five years, as a member of the adjunct faculty of the Department of Psychology at Montclair State University, in New Jersey, where he supported the state’s first program minor in leadership studies. In 2012, Chris received the Outstanding Alumnus Award from MSU’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Chris was also named as a finalist by the National Veteran Owned Business Association for Veteran Entrepreneur of the Year, in 2012. Both Chris, and gothamCulture, have also appeared in numerous media outlets such as Crain’s New York Business, Inc. Magazine Online and NBC’s Nightly News w/ Brian Williams.
Chris regularly presents at professional conferences and workshops. His research and writing centers on organizational culture and customer loyalty. His volunteer work includes significant contributions of skills-based pro-bono work with non-profits through the Billion Plus Change program. Chris holds a MA degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and a PhD in Organizational Psychology.
