From 1972 to 1978, director of eleven-county non-profit social-services agency providing services to the elderly in South Central Montana and administrator of continuing education programs in gerontology at Syracuse University (1976-1978). From 1961 to 1971, taught courses in writing and literature at the Universities of Nebraska and New Hampshire. Recipient BI Island Treasure Award (2004). Education.
