Ken Sethney is a marketing coach and has worked with many start-ups as part of an experimental SBDC (small business development center) in Orange County, CA. Called VenturePoint, this SBDC was created to help early stage, potentially high-growth companies get off the ground. All of the clients were involved in high-tech or bio-tech products or services. In three years, VenturePoint turned $2.5 million in grant money into $1,677.5 million of economic impact, as measured by the state and federal sponsors.
Earlier in his career, Ken launched several companies. The first rented creative music programming to restaurants and clothing stores throughout the U.S. and Canada. The second was an advertising agency that he helped grow from two employees to 35. The third was a virtual marketing communications production firm where he worked with other solopreneurs to create marketing materials and coach clients in the development of successful marketing programs.
In the mid-90’s Ken was in demand as a speaker, workshop leader and advisor to CEOs as an expert on the marketing implications of the Internet. In recent years, he has volunteered with non-profits and government agencies to plan and implement their communication strategies.
